Random search day
September 1, 2007Okay, so when I'm bored, I do random searching on google, yahoo, and lots of other sites with search engines. Today, after some answering on Yahoo! Answers, I decided to see if there are any Krispy Kreme questions that I can answer after that tour me and Jessica had last week.
Then, I found this person who asked how to make a Krispy Kreme cake. She had a sweet story along with it, something along these lines:
Krispy Kreme Wedding Cake?
It was at the opening of our local Krispy Kreme where he first kissed me
So we have decided to flout tradition and have a Krispy Kreme wedding cake. I have seen pictures of them but is there anyone out there who has actually had one at their wedding or been to a wedding where there was one? Did you have to put it together yourself or do Krispy Kreme help out.
This made me wonder: "How DO you make a Krispy Kreme cake?"
I found out how on the Krispy Kreme website. Here it goes!
Assembling a Krispy Kreme Cake
![]()
The following instructions are based on using 2 dozen Original Glazed™ doughnuts and will result in formation of a ‘pyramid’ construction.
You will need a flat platter on which to assemble the cake:
Layer 1
- Place six doughnuts in a ring formation
- Fill in the space in the middle with one full doughnut
- Cut one doughnut in pieces to fill any spaces in the first layer.
- Place icing on top of this layer so it adheres to layer 2
Layer 2
- Place five doughnuts on top of layer 1 again in a ring formation slightly inwards from the edge of layer 1
- Place one doughnut inside the ring
- If there are any gaps, cut a doughnut in pieces and place in the gaps
Remaining Layers
- Keep layering in the same manner until you get to the crescent remembering to use one less doughnut in each layer to achieve the ‘pyramid’ effect and to bring the layer inward slightly from the edge of the lower layer.
- Place one doughnut on top of the cake as the final layer.
Decorate!!
- Here is where you can let all your creativity flow. Melt chocolate and drizzle over the outside, pipe cream into any gaps, use fruits to decorate such as raspberries & strawberries or just shake some icing sugar over your cake.
You may choose to use our Chocolate Iced Sprinkled doughnuts to decorate, by putting icing on the bottom of the doughnuts and attaching to the outside of the cake.
Adding your personal touches makes the cake all the more special.
- Take a photo and email it to us.
- Eat and enjoy!
Yo. Classmates!! Let's do this!
