The Sims 2 Talent Badge Guide. [stolen]
August 30, 2007I got this from the sims 2 BBS, and I saved it onto my computer, now I wanna delete so I'm posting it up here for referenece.
Talent badges allow you to make better things to sell for a higher profit. ex. Something made by a Sim with a Gold talent badge in Robotics is likely to sell for a higher amount than a Sim with a Bronze. There are seven different skills for which you can earn a talent badge. Toy Making, Robotics, Sales, Cash Register, Stocking, Flower Arranging and Cosmetology. There are three badges. (Not including the first one which is nothing) Bronze, Silver and Gold. To get a higher badge you have to keep going at the skill, but it gets harder the higher up you get. Talent badges will also go up higher if you have a certain amount of a certain skill. For instance a Sim with high Cleaning skill will find it easier to get badges in Cosmetology. Now I'm going to explain the badges and what you can make with them…(This is going to take a while…)
1) Toy Making
Pretty self-explanatory this one.. You make toys. But be careful… Some toys made by unskilled toy makers can result in some nasty consequences… The skill associated to this badge is Mechanical so its worth putting in a few hours of studying for it…
At no talent badge you can only make Sir-Bricks-Alot for §32. A pet brick. You can actually play with it. (Insane I know.)
At bronze you gain the ability to make Fire Trucks for §45 and clown-in-a-box for §75. You also make Sir-Bricks-Alot faster.
At silver you can make all the ones you know already much faster and make Kites for §60 and Spin Twirl and Wobble! for §260.
At Gold all things you know can be made faster and you can now make Water Wigglers for §400.
2) Sales
Sales is all about getting the customer to buy your product. You need to be highly Charismatic to master this skill.. However Sales can be bad at times. If the customer rejects your offer then you could be losing some loyalty stars…Which is never good.
At no badge you can only use the basic sell. If you succeed then the buy bar will increase a little but if you fail then it lowers slightly.
At Bronze You have the ability to offer the items "cheap" just this once. Of course, this fails less but increase is small and the decrease is small too.
At silver you get the “Hard Sell” This really puts pressure on the customer and, if pulled off correctly, can work a charm; increasing the bar a average amount. If you fail though the bar is decreased at the same amount.
And now for Gold…You now have the ability to dazzle customers…Tell them about how brilliant this product is and how they could never live without it. This rarely fails..But if it does then you’ve literally lost the sale. However when it works then the customer will buy it right away… Viola!
3) Cash Register
Working the cash register is all about Logic and having a serious attitude to life. Simple as it seems this is actually (in my opinion anyways) one of the hardest ones to master, seeing as in the early stages customers will regularly get angry about waiting to long and will start to lose customer loyalty.
At nothing you are very slow at working it and customers will be losing stars like a man with a hole in his pocket..
At Bronze your beginning to figure out how this thing works but customers will still be losing stars.
At Silver you find out that the till opening isn’t that scary..Customers will probably be happy at the speed things are moving now.
At Gold you hit those buttons like a psychopath. Customers rarely decrease unless you purposely ignore them..
4) Robotics
In robotics you, surprisingly, make robots! This is my favorite skill of all..Mainly because you get to shock other Sims!!! A good strong Mechanical level is handy for this.
At nothing you can make toy robots for §108 each. These are easy to make so craft a good few and sell them for a nice profit..
At Bronze you make Toy robots a lot faster and gain the ability to make toys with treads. CleanBots (§560) and HydroBots (§320) are now available to make.
Silver- You can make everything faster and can craft my favorite robot-Sentry bots! (They’re shockingly great!) for §720 and MunchieBots for §1200
Finally the gold badge.. With this you can create the greatest robot of all…* Cue Drum roll* Servo!!! This robot costs a lot to make (§3000) but its worth it. Servo can do everything and anything a sim can do..Cook, clean, have relationships. But they need to recharge (like sleeping) when their energy bar is low..Yes that’s right they have moods, wants and fears.. Another tip I learnt from a simmer on the BBS a couple of weeks ago is that when a Servo wants to recharge make sure a radio/tv etc is on.. They hate to be disturbed when sleeping!! Just like Sims!Just make sure you keep it happy. They go mental otherwise!
5) Restocking
This is a useful ability to have..At the end of the day when your little Simmies are tired and weary the last thing you want to do is spend hours restocking.. A nice bit of Body skill will help you out here.
No Badge- It takes so long you begin to think they’re asleep!
Bronze- Slightly faster restocking.
Silver-This is more like it!! You’ll start to see a difference now..But its not good enough..
Gold- Here we go!! Your restocking faster than ever now! They move with such speed you’re done in minutes!
6) Flower Arranging
Pfft…
I hate this skill..But it has to be done. It’s easier to get the knack to this with a high Creativity skill and a sim with a playful attitude.
No Badge- Daisy Bouquets can be made for §36
Bronze-Wildflower Bouquets (§47) and Tulip Bouquets (§61) can be made. Daisy
Bouquets can also be made with more speed.
Silver- Mixed Flower Bouquets (§68) and Rose Bouquets (§96) can be made. Daisy, Wildflower and Tulip Bouquets are now made faster
Gold- Everything can be made faster and now you can create the beautiful Snapdragon Bouquet for 240 simoeleans..
7) Cosmetology
And finally, last but not least Cosmetology.. The art of making people beautiful (or not ) This skill is only useful to those who run salons ( Or plain weirdo’s) There is one good thing about this skill though…You get to mess up peoples faces!!! Cleaning helps a lot here..
No Badge- High chance of screwing up the makeover..
Bronze-Medium chance of screwing up
Silver- Low chance of screwing up
Gold –Rare Chance of screwing up
